Designed for Collaboration: Why Our Structure Breaks Down Walls
A company’s organizational chart is more than just a map of who reports to whom; it is the architecture of its communication. A poorly designed structure creates silos, where teams become isolated, knowledge is hoarded, and innovation stagnates. A well-designed structure, on the other hand, can act as a catalyst for collaboration and creativity.
At Manaspurti, we have deliberately chosen a functional department structure. This means we group our team members based on their shared expertise—engineering, design, marketing, and so on—rather than by individual projects or products.
This choice is a direct reflection of our core beliefs.
The Benefits of a Functional, Collaborative Structure:
-
Deep Expertise and Mentorship: By grouping, for example, all of our designers together, we create a center of excellence. Junior designers have direct access to senior mentors, best practices are easily shared, and the entire team’s skill level grows collectively. This ensures a consistently high standard of quality across everything we build.
-
Breaking the “My Project” Mentality: In a project-based structure, it’s easy for team members to develop a narrow focus on their specific product. Our functional structure encourages a broader perspective. A developer might work on a transportation solution one month and a food sustainability project the next, but their home base is always the engineering department. This cross-pollination of ideas leads to more robust and innovative solutions for everyone.
-
Efficiency and Flexibility: When a new project needs a specific skill set, we can easily draw from the required department without having to “borrow” a resource from another project. This structure makes us more agile and allows us to allocate our talent to the areas of greatest need and impact.
Our goal is to build a single, cohesive team united by a shared mission. Our structure is designed to reinforce that unity, ensuring that the best ideas, regardless of where they originate, can flow freely and benefit the entire organization.
